Travel insurance
The devil is in the detail....the simplicity or complexity of your Afib and general heart and health condition. You are obliged to declare everything otherwise there will be no payout if you need to claim. I believe the B. Heart Found. has its own travel list so perhaps go there first.
Hi, I use All Ckear, I don't have AF but I have had a heart attack, a stroke and two TIAs . I found their cover and price excellent.
we use all clear. We both have AF and my husband had a stroke last year. Not cheap but covers us for everything.
Nationwide Flex Plus. I paid £460 for a years worldwide cover including cruises. That is as well as the £13 per month which covers basic insurance plus mobile phone and breakdown cover. My husband had a heart attack last May and I have afib. We declared everything and some conditions don't add to the insurance cost. Hope this helps
Hello, You will find travel insurance information on the AF Association webpage: heartrhythmalliance.org/afa...
I use Insurance4medical.com.
I’ve always found Stay Sure the best company for price, coverage and ease of use.
Ring companies, rather than filling in the form online. I find this results in a more comprehensive coverage and lessens chances of subsequent disputes, in any company.
Remember that unexpected or unplanned hospital visits will at the very least lessen your chances of getting coverage, and may result in no coverage at all, as will situations where you are waiting for results.
I leave my insurance applications until days before travel as this can cut the cost immensely. Obviously this doesn’t suit travellers who want to be recompensed if their holiday plans fall through due to illness, but my main priority is to be airlifted to a suitable medical facility from whatever far flung part of the world I’m going to, which can be very expensive,
