Just a big thank you for all the good wishes. I had at least five hours sleep last night and since 8 am have been easing off on the painkillers. Now down to gently niggle with occasional stabs so hoping another good night should see us over the worst. Still no idea what I did but time seems to be helping. At least I know I look and sound good inside. lol 😁

Again thank you all for your support which is greatly appreciated.

That's a relief Bob. I did think, like CDreamer, it might be nerve related. Actually I wondered if it might be shingles? It can be screaming abdabs in the pain department and doesn't always show up on the skin at first. But normally you'd have had a few cold like symptoms and fatigue preceding it, and you didn't mention this. Hope all continues to improve 🙏

That happened to me with shingles too! Burning pain and no sign of anything. Then one very small blister!

Glad it's working Bob.I've been on holiday drank wine with dinner..back home I never drink alcohol now my heart is doing strong back and forth thumping and beating me up inside as though its saying I don'ti lke what you did like it's rebelling against me..anyone else had this..I'm on beta blokkas and blood thinners.xxx

I seem to have a problem with wine. I can have a Drink or two with Tito’s vodka and it doesn’t bother me. Apparently the difference is that it’s made from yellow corn, rather than potatoes or wheat. It is distilled 6 times and unaged.

Markham profile image
Markham in reply to Ablation7

I.might try that..but feel.now I should lay off the odd drink now altogether.

Missed your post Bob ( missing notifications from health unlocked a lot lately), glad your feeling better must have been something and nothing. All the best !

Oh I missed your original post but so sorry to hear you’ve been in pain. I agree with Singwell that shingles is very painful and can be mistaken for something far worse until the rash appears. I thought I’d got appendicitis and went to the doc fully convinced I’d be at A&E next. It’s amazing that the pain can go right through you.

Take care and rest.

Spoke too soon. woken by pain at 4 am again, just in time to see cat drop live mouse in the corridor! Maybe sleeping is bad for me. Interesting thought re shingles but been jabbed so hopefully not.

Statins cause me pain in my shoulder blades . If you are on statins, consider stopping for a few days.

Sorry Bob I missed your post the other day.

So glad things are getting more bearable all very worrying no doubt.

So sad that we now have to avoid A&E at all costs because there is no doubt that many genuine cases will go undiagnosed.

At our GP surgery we now have to walk round to make an appointment as the phone is now never answered.

Hope things continue to improve for you.

I am relying on your pacemaker being a success as I have declined this option for 3 years now. Whilst theoretically I need one now I will not agree until they can convince me that there will not be an allergic reaction to the pacemaker.

Pete

reinaway profile image
reinaway in reply to pottypete1

Well Pete I'm allergic to everything so it seems but a month after my PM I seem to be fine and have already felt the benefit of it with no AF and a steady beat. So go ahead I'm sure you will be glad you did. I now await my check up in a fortnight and then the subsequent AV node ablation shortly after that. As my daughters said to me 'be brave Mum' best wishes Pete

pottypete1 profile image
pottypete1

My big problem is the awful Urticaria that happened when I had each of the last 3 ablations. It was so severe I had to stand up all night on two occasions as I could not bear my skin touching anything. Throughout the night I had cold showers every half hour to stay sane. This problem lasted nearly 6 months on the worst occasion.

For 3 years now they have been trying to assemble all the components and wires that comprise a pacemaker to do patch testing on me but so far they have been singularly unsuccessful.

I think if I ever do take the plunge I will not need the ablate part as my AF is now virtually none existent.

Hope you continue to progress.

Best wishes

Pete

I once had frozen shoulder and when scanned they found bursitis and calcifications. I had a cortisone shot that was like a miracle! Good luck.

Buffafly profile image

Hi, hope the pain is receding. If it continues a physio visit might help, nerve pain is a funny thing, I suffered with ‘frozen shoulder’ for months but eventually diagnosed with a pinched nerve in my neck. Best wishes 💐
