Hi all, ive just returned from a week in Spain and had a nice relaxing holiday. I just wanted to say thanks for all of the kind words of support from everyone on here who responded to my question of should I go or not. It was right to go and made easier by your encouragement... Thank you.

Glad you went. Gave us all encouragement. Great to have you back.
Hi DJ good to hear you had a relaxing time, just what was needed.
Good to hear it worked for you and was enjoyable.
👍....Sue 5453 will be encouraged if she reads your post!
Glad you enjoyed hope you chilled while you was there Great boost to your confidence
I’m glad to hear you had a good holiday in Spain. Mine started in Spain and I ended up in hospital this was about 8/10 weeks back, they were amazing, calmed the heart back to normal and told be to get home see a cardio which I did. I never saw your post but I would have told you if anything did go wrong they are so kind, efecient. Most town have their small 24 hour Urgence, so it’s local help, which is pretty empty ,I had one person in front of me, waiting room empty.... and you go by ambulance if needed to the major town. It works so well, better than U.K. when it’s straight to big hospital. The reciprocal European health card was put on computer, an invoice printed out saying covered....so all was free. I must admit I’m a newbie to all this and still fret over so much. we travel holidays with motorhome, im suddenly worried about going to other country’s. I live in France so I’m fine with that...I now know Spain would be ok, but it’s having the courage to go out of my comfort zone I need to get over.
My questions are travel questions.
I was wondering, has anyone had any experience in Italy or Croatia or other countries and having an afib crazy happening? I know we shouldn’t go away thinking something would happen but it’s nice to have an understanding of how other countries are, and what to do.
Has anyone gone on a long plane journey? I can’t imagine right now I could even get in a plane I’d be so scared.
Hi there are plenty on here who have done long plane journeys. It helps to plan out all your steps to ease anxiety. Allow plenty of time. Stay hydrated. Just done Northern Ireland to Turkey and last year went to New York. Best part of the flight to NYC was I read a book on the plane!
That’s sooooooooo good to hear. Thanks for telling me that. I suppose with this the longer you ha e it the more you feel at ease with it.?....I am feeling much calmer since the tablets have been juggled to suit and the side effects have calmed.....I am feeling bodily normal, but it’s the unpredictable bit nagging in my brain.....I did stay overnight in a hotel last week away from home, it was fine.....
What I don’t understand with this is when is it time you think oh oh I need a hospital......when I was in Spain and it happened I didn’t want to make a fuss and just saud I wasn’t feeling well, we were with friends, she was a nurse and checked my pulse,,,then it was pretty obvious.....my pulse was 130.....but generally now....I’m on tablets....I’ve had small attacks, but how long do you leave it if it’s going on and on cos I have pafib.....I don’t understand should I go to hospital or rest and wait for it to pass ? This is what worries me traveling...when to make a fuss or keep quiet.....my cardiologist is French and we speak French, but medical stuff is quite hard......
Welcome back DJB, glad you enjoyed your break. Any news re appointments?
Hi Gordon, I hope you are well? I have a stress test at Liverpool Royal next week, I've not had the appointment through for the EP yet but it's only just over one week since my cardiologist referred me so il give it until the end of this week then start asking. At the moment my increased meds are doing a great job but not sure how long the will be for... I'm make hay while the sun shines though eh 😏
Excellent, I think the sun is going to be shining for a little while longer :-).
I am doing Ride London 100 mile bike ride this weekend in support of AFA, this forum has been a great help to me and many others with regard to information and guidance.
