Want to mange this thing!

I had catheter ablation for supraventricular Tachycardia in March and second one in June. Was told 2nd ablation would fix me, as the Electrophysiologist now knew what to do/where to ablate and would use special mapping equipment and higher powered catheters. He ablated SVT site and found a Flutter site which he also ablated. He said I went into Atrial fib spontaneously and said I would likely at some point (soon or maybe in a few years) develop atrial fib. I don't like meds and was not keen on ablation. Until recently did not take any meds. Now 2 ablations later I am on Verapamil (calcium channel blocker), Flecainide and blood thinner, called Xarelto. In about 2 weeks I want to stop Flecainide and monitor. Will use PIP (either Sotalol or Flecainide) if I have episodes. Cardiologist has labelled me as having Afib, but I am not so sure. He and EP said not to take any meds after ablations and that I could exercise fully after 1 week. They said healing takes only about 6 weeks. I disagree and think the few episodes I had post the ablations were due to stress of the ablations. I consulted with a naturopath who specialises in heart issues. My research and based on what he prescribed I am on Magnesium orotate, Vitamin D and CoQ10, eat a banana every day (for potassium). I am interested in Taurine (or magnesium taurate). Tocotrienols (rather than statins, which Cardio says I should take). Not sure about l-arginine.

I have Apple Watch, find it useful, fairly accurate and use it all the time (without becoming stressed). Have sent traces to cardio and he is impressed. EP suggested I get Apple Watch, but it was on my agenda (had to wait until May for it to be available in Australia).

Thanks for the warm welcomes and I wish you all the best.

If you read out fact sheet on recovery you will find that it takes three to six months for recovery so whre your doctors get their ideas is beyond me. We do get this a lot I'm afraid!

You sound very much 'on the ball' which is just as well! I hope everything goes in the right direction for you now.

So you've had the watch since May, did it pick up any AFib before the ablation in June? Stopping the Flecanide and using the watch to monitor sounds like the sort of thing I would do.
