Update on my arm misbehaving in the pool

Hi everyone.

Got a phone call this morning to tell me I had an appointment at the hospital in the afternoon. Was boiling hot in there, and we were all wilting a bit. However I did get a good MOT. I had a head CT scan, a neck scan, an ECG and seven blood tests, plus all the reflex tests that the doctor did. My own doctor will give me the blood test results, but the scans showed nothing. However the doc said he did think that I’d had a TIA, and he has changed me from Rivaroxaban 20 mg to Edoxaban 30mg, and also changed my statins and BP meds (BP sky high) in the hope that it doesn’t happen again. At least I know now, he said it was just bad luck, so will just get on with things.

Thankyou for all your kind replies the last time, hope you all stay well.

keep an eye on your BP now and see GP if meds are not sufficient to lower it

That's good that you've been seen quickly. As Rosy says, keep a close watch on your BP.

G,ad that you have been seen quickly. Hope that you can settle your BP. Don’t hesitate seek help if you feel anything else strange happens. Thanks for letting us know.

table spoonful of olive oil on an empty stomach first thing in the morning got my blood pressure into the normal range. Leave it as long as you can before you eat. In my case it's about 15 mins.

That's really interesting Rory, how did you know to do this? Did you read it somewhere?

Will definitely try that Roy, haven’t heard of that before. Thanks

That's interesting! My wife said her Gran used to have a teaspoon of olive oil with a little sugar every morning.

Yes. I think I read it on Livestrong.com. I also saw some stuff on the BBC where they tested various oils and olive oil was the only one that affected blood pressure. I gave to drink it mixed with lemon juice to make it palatable enough to drink.

Glad you have been checked out. Don’t delay getting seen if you notice anything else unusual - numbness tingling etc

That was quick. Glad they saw you quickly and have changed medication. All the best.

Sorry to hear that but try not to worry . A TIA is a warning of a system failure which you are now addressing.I had one in 2017 and change of meds straight away.

Touch wood fine since.

BP is often higher in hot weather as our tickets are working harder with thicker blood I was told.

Keep your chin up mate xx
