covid vaccination 2 days and in AF today.
Sorry to hear this news. Which jab did you have?
Jean
Astra Zenica
Did you feel ok the day after having it?. My granddaughter and her uni friends were all ill the day after having the Astra Zeneca vaccine! All are dental trainees working in clinic, so needed the protection of the vaccine.
How are you now?
I had an episode of AF after both my Covid vaccinations. I put it down to my heart objecting to a foreign substance in my blood.
Oh that happened to me. I had the jab last Saturday week and after a light sandwich lunch on the Monday wham went into afib and fast tachycardia. It happened before two weeks previously so didn’t think about the vac! Still in tachycardia 9 days later taking higher dose bisoprolol and flecainide plus my usual Apixaban and other pills but not helping much. Hospital don’t want me in because high COVID and staff deployed to other departments hence the tablets. Hope you all stay safe
No Kkatz. In fact they’ve even given up phoning me. Trouble is I did the dreaded thing of looking up flecainide on the internet and it worried me as said it was a black (box?) pill and could cause other arrhythmias. I had 3 CVs in December, 2 were electrical and 1 chemical but didn’t last. Now they want to send me to harefield for a left atrial/complex tachycardia ablation with 14 pages of risks posted to me, but long wait 6-9 months because of COVID. This afib/tachycardia is a pain when the beasts attack isn’t it
Yes I sometimes wonder if looking at all the info on the net is a bad thing.I worry the this is going to turn into something more serious as I have been very lucky up to now.I hope you improve. Do keep ringing the professionals if you feel things are getting worse.Seriously.Kathy
Thank you I will phone but when I do it’s an answerphone which says no one to take call as staff have been deployed to other departments because of covid. I leave a message but no call backs since last Wednesday. GP says out of his jurisdiction as I’m under hospital but he does try to help. You take care and stay safe. Pat
What about 111.?if you are like me I am scared stiff of going to casualty. I had to call ambulance out with another of my illnesses but I decided not to go to A& E and monitor at home. I was ok after about 24 hours so good call. Your Gp should be able to help if just reassurance & advice.Hope it improves.
This thread sounds full of anxiety, and anxiety triggers AF. I had the Pfizer BioNTech vaccine on Saturday, and I'm fine.
Sorry if I seem negative. I apologise. I had a fake news video sent to me today from a vaccine denier within the family, and it has put me in a very critical mood generally.
Had my vaccine Pfizer shot on the 7th Jan, just felt a little achy and sore two days, but fine after that, maybe it's anxiety I used to be able to set my afib off just worrying about the "what iff", maybe itl ease when the body acclimatises to the antibody response. Valsalva breathing helps me a lot and I'd my pulse and BP goes high, is very good at sorting it. Lie down and raise legs, then deep breaths in expanding the stomach, then make sure it takes longer to expel the breath, I breath in via the nose, then partially close my mouth as if whistling to exhale , works for me, worth a try and try relax.
i had covid vac last thurs on the friday i had 12hrs of fast AF not sure it was the injection though
Sorry to hear that this has happened. There was no sign of my (paroxysmal) AFib since the first AstraZeneca dose on 6th Feb. Just felt intensely tired for a week, so maybe that's part of it? Could be linked with the mobilisation of the immune system (and the sympathetic nervous system)?
