Had my cryoablation yesterday and all went well. I went into af very quickly into the procedure which meant it only lasted for around 1 hr 15 mins. I have to admit that It wasn't the most pleasant of experiences but not bad enough to put me off going through again if I needed to. The worst part for me was when they had to keep stimulating the phrenic nerve to insure it was working well, it feels like you're being kicked violently in the chest from the inside!
As usual for me after any operation or procedure, my blood pressure dropped a lot during and after but it did eventually get back to near normal and I was discharged after 12 hours.
I have read my discharge notes this morning and was surprised to read that I have Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, I have never been made aware of this before. This is apparently what has caused my af.
Am feeling ok this morning apart from a little 'heart ache'. I aim to take it very easy for a couple of weeks now.

I think I was very lucky re the length of the procedure. I have no idea about the WPWs, I only know what I have read on the NHS page about it. I will discuss it with my consultant at my 3 month review.
I had an ablation in 2011 after being diagnosed with Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome and have been symptom free ever since, hope this is the same for you Cally53.
