I thought I had wrote a post asking if anyone claims Attendance Allowance but it seems to have disappeared. Are we not allowed to ask this kind of questions or have I made some mistake when posting? I have permanent afib and feel six months on I still cannot do lots of stuff about the home and garden and have just employed a cleaner for a couple of hours every fortnight and have had to pay for work in the garden. Xx

There is nothing to stop you posting such things so maybe you pressed a wrong button.

AF is seldom classed as a disability I'm afraid as many people here will attest but you can always try.

Thanks BobD. I just feel to keep things up I the house and garden without it causing me to become very low I will have to pay out. I don't udderstand why it is not classed as a disability as it severely limits what I am capable of doing even down to cooking and showering. I can still do these things but the former really takes it out of me and the latter takes more than twice as long and have to keep resting. I will probably try it and see how I go. Xx

I think you would struggle to prove that to a medical board as so many people with AF live normal lives. As we are all different it would be up to you to fight your case.

Yes I get that but I also have heart failure non-ischsaemic cardiomyophy so lead anything but a normal life at moment and cardio said I will tire easily and learn my limitations. Will possibly get a knock back but might still try...watch this space. X

Hello. I applied for AA about a year ago. A lady from Age UK filled in form for me and it was awarded with no queries. Do apply.

Age Concern will help you fill in the form. They helped a friend of mine in Cornwall claim just this year.
