For those of you that have stopped taking Eliquis - have you done so gradually or all at once?

Hi Jafib, I would say this is something you should discuss with your doctor who will be aware of your particular circumstances.

Agree with doodle, apart from anything else, you need to be sure that coming off an anticoagulant is the right thing to do for you. Getting it wrong could have serious consequences.......

Why would you want to?

Ive had several surgeries in the last year, each time the docs had me suddenly stop anticoagulation a few days prior.

Not looking for debate. Just a curiosity

My EP said it was ok to stop taking it and I didn't suffer any ill effects. In fact the migraine aura I had been experiencing ceased the minute I stopped taking the anticoagulant. Hard to prove they are connected, however I would be slow to go back on it!!

I'm having a pacemaker put in soon and my Cardio said to just stop the Eliquis a few days before.

I don’t know. My Dutch family doctor has told me this. ( sometimes i think that iT looks like a Revenue model for the doctors. )

About 2 months after my ablation my doctor took me off Eliquis, He said to just stop taking it. So I did and had no issues.
