Hi Everyone,

So I’m 4 months post Cryoblation and other than a few eptopics I’ve been fine. Until today sat down in work and felt my heart race shot from 78bpm to 201bpm luckily I managed to get myself back into rythmm after approx 5 mins. So horrible to feel it again after so long without one :-( in hoping it’s just a blip and I don’t need another ablation.

I’m back at the hospital on 18th March for my follow up since the operation so will ask him then.

Hope your all doing ok xx

That's horrible.

Was it AF or just fast? I went through this at around the 3 month period and was convinced that my ablation had failed.

Some days I still have short runs of SVT, caught on my fitness tracker as 240 bpm, which I don't believe !

How did you measure your rate? Not doubting it was very fast but I have a fitness watch which is fairly accurate at low rates but not for fast AF. I've been having some very uneven heart rates so a more accurate device would be helpful. Hopefully it was a blip but it is a doomy feeling.....

i wear my I watch everyday and this is so accurate even the hospital said it was spot on give or take the odd beat.

I think it was more SVT than AF to be honest. I’m hoping it’s just a blip.

They did say they went ahead with the pulmonary vein ablation as they could only trigger the AF and not the SVT so maybe I will have episodes of SVT but I’d rather that that AF. Not 100% certain what it was though :-(

Whilst this could be a recurrence of your SVT, it might be atrial tachycardia as a consequence of the ablation. You have mentioned previously about starting a family, so I would expect you don’t want to be on medication. I would suggest not waiting for review in 4 weeks, but rather talk to to the arrhythmia nurse now, and email your EP with a copy of the print out from your watch, so that this does not interfere with your imminent wedding plans.

Thanks for the advice. I don’t have the facility to email my EP or contact the nurse as this was only an option in the weeks following my ablation you see. My appointment is 18.03.19. I am hoping it doesn’t happen again. Especially with all my plans coming up.

Please try and relax, I had an ablation for PAF in March 2017 and it took me until November that year to come off the meds. For the first three months I felt superb, then had five really hard months of bumps and racing heart. Please don’t worry, I know it’s really hard but some of us are slower healers.

Thankyou that makes me feel much better. I will relax and keep calm. Thanks
