Support group in British Columbia?

I have gotten so much support and information from this site. It's so great! But I think it would be good to have a local afib support group too, to deal with our government health services. Especially as there are more and more folks with this health problem. Vancouver/southwestern BC is my area. Anyone interested?

if you want to start a group ( as we did in Surrey) it's best to work with your local hospital. They will let other patients know about you and you may be able to get the cardiologists/EPs to talk at your meetings. If you want more details about our group do send me a private message and I'll let you know- or do the same to beancounter(Ian) as he has started a group too

Thanks for the prompt reply. I had no idea there was anything like this in BC. I basically had to do my own research to find any kind of info on afib as the cardio and hospital here in Port Moody didn't provide me with much.

I'm not sure how to send you a private message - working on it.

I think RosyG means Surrey in England.

I live in Burnaby, B.C. On July 1, 2017 there is a "Letter to the Editor" published in "The Vancouver Sun" that I wrote. The figure for B.C. was 44,000 patients with irregular heart beats. Yes, our government health services are totally inadequate with the onslaught of that many patients.

A support group would be beneficial. I would be interested in it.

Oops, forgot where the website is located. I do get the Vancouver Sun, but I must have missed your letter. I am really interested in starting a group, but changed meds at month ago and lack some energy. Is there some way for us to connect without wasting Health Unlocked's space? I suppose I could send you my e-mail address - what do you think?

I have tried to send you a private message with my email. I hope you get it. If not, I will try again.

I think I did, you gave me your private e-mail address. I sent you a message to that e-mail a couple of days ago. If you didn't receive it, I'll try again.

I am very interested. I live on the North Shore , Vancouver. I have had Afib for almost a year. The general site is very helpful but it would be great to talk to locals.
