I have not had an ablation but it sounds as though the big meal was too much too soon. Smaller meals may be required until your body settles.

Thanks, yes, i think i was a bit of an idiot. The pain subsided after many hours....i just felt so surprisingly good so fast that i sort of wanted to celebrate with enchiladas and tres leches cake! :)

So, i did a search for Nexium side effects and the first one listed was headache and the 4th one was abdominal pain....doc put me on it as a precaution for some reason 2 days prior to surgery...i think this may be the culprit!

You may have a small amount of damage to the Vagus nerve which passes close by. It controls, amongst other things, the digestive system. I had the same problem and was assured by my EP, Proffesor Richard Schilling, it was transient. It was and I am fine, took a while though!

Thank you so much for your reply, it's reassuring to hear this.

I certainly had an uncomfortable feeling when eating larger meals for a couple of weeks post ablation. I put it down to the various instruments inserted down my throat during the procedure. It has cleared now fully now 8 weeks on.
