2 Days After Cryoablation

I’m feeling well after cryoablation — yippee! Had just a 4-second blip of Afib in the hospital and none since. It’s strange waiting to see if it’s really gone, having been such a major focus for me prior to the ablation. Thanks so much to everyone for their support beforehand. It really helped ease my anxiety. Great group!

One question. I’ve used Kardia for a couple years with a phone App to check my Afib. I’m wondering if it might be good to switch to an iWatch now for more continuous monitoring such as when sleeping. I am trying to use a CPAP for sleep apnea and may have felt some blips last night but not sure. Things may be more subtle now. Any experience with Kardia on iWatch vs phone App? Thanks!

Try not to get too obsessive about using gizmos as they tend to heighten anxiety when you least need it. Just in case you haven’t seen this, it’s worth reading......

If the ablation is a success (once your three to six month recovery is over ) why do you need to check anyway? Far better to get on with life than keep looking over your shoulder.

My Afib was unmistakable before because of the high heart rates. Now I'm less certain whether I might be having it or not. I thought having the Kardia on the iWatch might help me figure it out. I've been told that some people no longer feel their Afib after ablation.

I didn't for about ten years but something is now back.,There is no cure and all treatment is about quality of life. Bloody good ten years!!!

Best advice is not focus on it and just get on with life as to how you feel at any given time. Gizmos just increase anxiety in my view. Useful when trying to get a diagnosis but why keep thinking about it once you know what it is.?Many people will doubtless disagree I'm sure.

I'm so sorry that your Afib is back, Bob, and hope you can find a way to get it under control soon. You've obviously helped so many folks on this forum and I wish we could be as helpful to you. For me, being Afib free right now seems like a life-changer and I hear you and Flapjack saying, "Don't worry, be happy". Excellent advice. Thanks so much.
