Just took delivery of my Alivecor, set it up, used it, really easy to do. Positive result straight away, definitely AF. Am now able to show my GP on Wednesday! Progress at last.

Alivecor received
well done- good to know where you are
I bit the bullet and purchased one at the conference. I agree it is much easier to use than expected. I have hidden it away in a drawer so I am not tempted to overuse it but I hope I can remember the hiding place when I need it!
I think it will be really helpful and hopefully reassuring after my next ablation.
One question though:
I can see if I am in atrial fibrillation or if the reading is normal but for readings that are not normal and not A.F. do I have to send it off for analysis. Also, do ectopic class as normal or not? X
Probably a question better answered by someone more experienced with the Alivecor than me😊
I won't be using it too often, just enough to show. GP and EP. Get things moving. 😊 Good luck with ablation.
I find my AliveCor really useful too - for GP, cardiologist and EP - all accept printouts for discussion.
Regarding ectopics, I'm having some runs of PVC's and my AliveCor reports single beats or one PVC every 6 or 7 beats as 'Normal'. It didn't like a recording where I had a PVC every 3rd beat and reported it as 'Possible AF'. I definitely didn't have AF but the rhythm appeared to be knocked off by the PVC's. If I remember correctly, it was the same with PAC's - the odd one was normal but lots of them confused its analysis.
There is an advantage of doing twice a day (say 7.00 am and 7.00pm) if you are not in persistent AF because you can make a list of the results and then EP and GP can see frequency hitch might help your case forward.
Linda Bob sorry to have muscled in on your post! Good luck with your G.P. and thanks to all for your answers. X
