Today I got a letter from my surgery saying that vitamin D was low and they had given prescription to the chemist. I had already picked this up as I had to collect a repeat pres with the letter came a very informative leaflet taken from the BDA site (I don't have diabetes ). It's the best thing I've read on the subject. I always wondered why I'd had violet ray treatment as a child in the 1930's and why I felt so good when I was first pregnant in the1950's. They gave all pregnant women vitamins in those days. Thought Id better let you all know to show how stupid I amI and such slow learner.! Terry

My Dad also had the light treatment as a child in the 30s I didn't realise it was for vitimin D deficiency, but it makes sense.x

Yes, it does make sense, I thought it was for infant jaundice (doh) - one of our daughters had that and I had to let her 'sunbathe' a lot for the first few weeks of her life. Vitamin D is quite hard for the body to make if you live north of the Watford Gap I believe... I hope the vitamins make you feel better. Lis
