Update on Lynparza

Morning folks,

Just an update on my experience with Lynparza.

Started 1/7 on full dose of 600 mg per day. It really kicked me down hard and so yesterday I started on 400 mg per day to see if tolerance is better.

The SEs have been quite similar to the double chemo last summer but not quite as severe. Lymphedema in lower legs and feet has returned and even though swelling not as severe I am now weeping from both feet. Also a lot of pain in feet and can manage somewhat with NSAIDs but hate taking them regularly. Any guidance on pain management would be appreciated. Went to podiatrist yesterday for first time and he did a compression wrap and we set up home health to help as well.

We did a baseline scan last week and MO was pleased that I was stable on progression from scan last August. Several Mets lymph nodes, liver and bone, but holding stable. Scan also showed pulmonary edema. Bloodwork showed low sodium and calcium but we got those numbers back in line.

Younger son getting married end of May and MO said we could take a holiday from Lynparza for a couple of weeks before that to help better enjoy.

Always looking for feedback from the warriors on how to best navigate this minefield, knowing full well how blessed I am to actually be here at all.

Fight on, never give up, ever.

Here is my personal opinion for this line : Bloodwork showed low sodium and calcium but we got those numbers back in line

Please stay in touch with kidney doctor and monitors all kidney related report and also understand how to balance sodium in future.

We exchanged messages recently on dosage. I continue to find 400mg/day both tolerable and effective. Just saw MO - no radiographic progression, blood counts ok. This is month 10. Good luck.

That is great news, I hope you continue with those results.

Best advice I can give you: Tell your son to stay single....

As far as your feet (legs) are concerned.....I don't feel mine as if they're no longer a part of me..... They recommend compression socks/stockings but they hurt (like hell) between the end of ankles and the beginning of my legs. Most podiatrist just want to give me a pedicure. I have a suspicion that most podiatrists have a foot fetish. Oh to be a kid again....

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
