After 12 taxotere 50 mg infusions every 2 weeks and 10 mg prednisone daily My PSA dropped from 15.53 in August to 0.09 on 1/17/25. MO agreed to stop Orgovyx and Prednisone and monitor PSA monthly. I am hopeful that stopping daily prednisone taken since August 2021 will drop some side effects. If testosterone recovers somewhat after 11 month on Orgovyx then the PSA - side effect balance begins. If testosterone does not recover then what is the point of Orgovyx anyway and does it, of itself, have any side effects other than T reduction ? Maybe never tested ??

They tested T recovery with Orgovyx in the Hero trial, it is one of the benefits of LHRH antagonists.
I'm thinking of the mid term future for me as well. I was researching this today and I saw this HU thread where TA writes this:
Suggest you try to kickstart your natural T production with hCG shots and clomid pills.

It may not apply to your case and personally I will try to see what happens on its own when the time comes and try this if it is not recovering well.

Dr. Blanchard summarized this portion of his talk with the following thoughts:
- Time to testosterone recovery is associated with patient age, baseline testosterone, ADT duration, and BMI
- Longer time to recovery impacts general health but may improve DFS in patients without comorbidities
Good luck 🍀🤞🏻
Thanks for your comments. Very helpful.
You're very welcome. Your post triggered me to look a bit further, so thanks for posting.
The link to the video is also interesting, where he explains the paper:

YES ! Very informative. Conclusion chart is excellent. I am 84, in good shape and have been on Orgovyx (antagonist) for 11 months and Eligard(agonist) for 30 months prior. PSA will be the driver but testosterone replacement is intriguing since I don't expect much from T recovery. But--we'll see.
T doesn't just have to be low, it has to be negligible (below 20 ng/dl ideally). Most of the side effects are because of negligible testosterone. They tested Orgovyx against Lupron:
So how is your wife and your daughter doing now that it's a few month passed the Kidney transplant procedure? Great Wife, and Great Daughter. My Regards to both of them.

I look forward to your uplifting responses but this one blew me away. How thoughtful for you to inquire. You are a very special guy !
Both are doing remarkably well. My wife is playing golf and tennis several times a week and her anti rejection meds have been reduced to the minimum. My daughter has relocated to Florida, 35 minutes away, and is partying like a rock star in her new environment with many new friends. We all feel very blessed.
As we used to say "Way to go, daddy-o".

"How now brown cow." 'nuff said.
I began taking Orgovyx in 12/21 with a PSA of 29.6, and started 1000 mg Zytiga with 5 mg of prednisone in 4/22. By 6/22 my PSA was undetectable and stayed that way until 10/23 when my MO and I decided to try a "vacation" from both drugs.
3 months later (1/24) my PSA was still undetectable and my testosterone was 252. By 4/24, my PSA was still undetectable and testosterone was 403.
At my most recent test in January, PSA remains undetectable and testosterone 415.
For me, age 77, Orgovyx definitely worked in bringing my testosterone levels back quickly to normal levels. Hopefully you will have a similar experince.
Thanks. That's encouraging. I assume the side effects abated and, if so, how long did that take ?
Did you taper off the Prednisone?
My MO said no need to taper, but my endocrinologist said tapering recommended and mine took about 3 weeks from initial 7.5 mg/day. Who also gave me an adrenal insufficiency Cort Stim test. You don't want to find out what happens should your cortisol go whack by suddenly stopping prednisone.
