How long does it take abi to start reducing PSA? I started 4 weeks ago and PSA is still rising.

How much did your PSA increase? What treatments did you do before Zytiga? Did you take Xtandi or Erleada?

Give it a couple of months.

asked if you had done xtandi or erleada because if you have already had one of the 2 unfortunately it is very common that if you then do zytiga the psa goes up. While if you have not tried them yet it is an unusual fact that the psa goes up, however it can also happen that at the beginning it goes up and then goes down. Give it more time to work and then do some scans to see better what the cancer is doing.

PSA rises at first upon starting Zytiga? Even if one has already been doing Lupron first? Or just when they're begun together?

It usually goes down in both cases.

Hopefully! Mine did on Lupron. I had just never heard that Zytiga could raise PSA at first. I haven't had the second line hormone therapy yet (or maybe Zytiga is the third).

Were you on Lupron for some period before starting Zytiga?

Had a 66 month run on Xtandi when it stopped working. Started Zytiga and prednisone and tested monthly. PSA continued to rise but each month rise was a little less. By month 4 it tailed off and started dropping. It dropped for 5 months and now has flattened out again. Watch the PSA and percentage increase to see if you are getting therapeutic response over time.
