Hello,

A little unusual for a man to get both breast cancer and prostate cancer.

Yes. And unlucky. I get a Mamo every year. Usually, I’m the only male patient in the outer office. I believe the number of US males who have breast cancer diagnosis was around 2800 then, 2015.

Sorry to hear about 5 cancers. Have you had any genetic and genomic testing?

I did, twice. Both negative. Dr is pressing for another, as testing is getting better.

I’m BRACA2+ and have been told it puts me at higher risk for breast cancer (which I haven’t had, yet) and for prostate cancer (which I have). I also previously had Hodgkin’s lymphoma but I don’t think that’s correlated with BRACA2+

Boy you sure did not win the genetic lottery.

Tell me, where do you find the strength to persevere? I wish you all the best and hope your latest treatments are successful.

Always been a fighter, in a quiet way. I get down but try not to show it. I had breakfast with a good froend last week, and suddenly, froze up, worried I was starting to lose it. I teared up and it wd not pass. Then the friend realized i was worried how I was a burden to my family, emotionally. That never happens to me. Kind of shocked me. But the way my mind works, I felt lucky I havda friend who knew me well and knew I was uncomfortable...

My dad had both breast and prostate cancer and nearly all of his family had prostate cancer. I had genetic testing (my request) and found I had BRCA2. Was pretty much mutilated by a prostate surgeon, which required traveling to a large city to fix and the fix is something not many men would even consider. I've had radiation 3 times, and just like whack-a-mole, it keeps coming back. Now also fighting Parkinson's. Many here can empathize with you. It is extremely hard sometimes and I have teared up more than once.

Thanks. I'm sorry you're a victim of a mutilation. I can't imagine.

Most members suggest exercise for fatigue, as far as brain fog is concerned get yourself a non stop talking parrot if you're not married.

P.s. Also for the brain, you could watch old movies on tv and research old actors (famous and character ones) on Wikipedia.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Yikes! Is there a genomic correlate?

There is cancer in my family. All kinds.

That is one hell of a list. Very sorry for you as even dealing with a single cancer is far from trivial so I can't really imagine dealing with five of them. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you. I appreciate any best wishes. Many people just shake their heads, and some try to ignore my battle. Sometimes that's the largest hill.
