Bravo Lslal! That’s a great reduction … thr triple threat is kicking ass! Good news . Stay active friend …. Follow an naturalpathic oncologist Dr. Mike uzick .. he told me that a little soy such as a few hand fulls of edanme per day is good and it can help a bit with hot flashes . He says “ some soy it ok for us , but it shouldn’t be our main source of protein. Pea , hemp , pumpkin seed are great proteins .. not too much soy .. Take care and keep kicking the pc in its teeth . I’ve been undetectable over six years from a bad dx like you . It is possible? I wish you health and happiness! Keep trucking! 🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🏄🏻♂️🤙🏽
However enjoy soy too. Natto, a little soy sauce on a lot of different things like avocado (soy, wasabi, fish flakes, and japanese mayo), its good on a loosely scrambled egg too.
AMAZING! Very inspirational and thank you for sharing your success. Stay the course, I'd say. Hubby switched to soy milk instead of dairy, and we opted for that vs. other options because of higher protein. He's abt 2 years in from dx, and just finished ht, so after being mostly vegan is adding back some chicken and a few eggs a week. He wants to get back some muscle! Lulu700, I'm going to look into that naturapathic onc. you recommended--I find that the diet/nutrition part is somewhat challenging. But as you guys often say, "moderation" and generally healthy food is best.
I have been diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer, 9 years ago, since then on ADT, last 2 years on Xtandi too (previosly had Docetaxel for 6 months).
I am vegan last 6 years, eating tofu, soy sos, soya milk, soy yogurt... My testosteron is on castration level all the time. Of course only non GMO soy.
Tofu I like . There are good soy ice cream substitutes . Congrats on the 9 yrs ! . I’m coming up behind you at over seven . We are mostly vegan but once in awhile we eat some wild game or deep water fish .. Salud! 😎
I’m G9, stage 4 - extensive mets, dx in 2014. My PSA was undetectable for about 6 years and I’ve been using soy milk in my coffee for years now and only recently has my PSA become barely detectable again. I doubt soy had anything to do with it. I used to be pretty stringent about what I ate but over time I’ve loosened thing up considerably. I still eat pretty healthy but that’s more for maintaining a healthy BMI and good cardiac health. Honestly, I don’t think diet has much to do with PCa progression. Enjoy food, enjoy life, just do it in moderation.
My husband and I are vegans. We eat soya milk, tofu, Natto (makes good sauce), etc. Recently discovered tofu skins which our daughter used in sushi and reminded us of omelette sushi! Read a lot on soya to start with but we were not convinced against eating it. We tend to listen to Dr Greger on nutrition.org a lot. He cites a lot of research about stuff. The main thing we do is to eat whole foods plant based very diverse diet.
Michael Milkin of Junk Bond fame wrote a book about PCa and diet about 20 years ago. He advocated Soy everything. He is still alive but his website does not mention Soy at all. The info is conflicting.
There has been a lot of negative misinformation on soy out there that doesn't bear up under investigation. Spw1 has good advice on Dr. Greger and his site NutritionFacts.org. Greger reads all of the current research and posts short videos and sometimes text on the available research. He is very good about determining which research is independent and which is produced by special interests. He has a great search engine, and he has several short discussions on the subject of soy. Soy is in my diet almost daily.
Dr William Li, author of Eat to beat disease has done major research on soy…Bottom line is IF you can find a non-GMO quality then benefits are encouraging. Fermented soy is best like Miso and Tempeh!!
