BRCA 1 Not responding to PARP Inhibitor

Had ctDNA test which revealed a BRCA 1 mutation. Onc placed me on Lynparza 600 mg daily along with Orgovyx daily. psa when started parp was 7.9 thirty days later 9.4 continued same, thirty days later psa 8.2 continued same, thirty days later psa 10.4. Onc was a psma scan to check results, if five spots or less, radiation to those, if more, place me on Xtandi. How long does it take Lynparza to effectively work? Onc says most men with this mutation are BRCA 2. I have no side effects with either drug now. Any suggestions to try or stay the course.

I've heard it more than once that BRCA1 does not cause PCA like BRCA2. I know that the best responders are BRCA2, followed by BRCA1...I can't recall the percentages but it a distant second. Sorry you're not responding.

Right. My onc says he has never dealt with a BRCA 1 before. Always BRCA 2. I've read where it can take 2 - 5 months for some cancers to respond to Lynparza
