"testosterone injections every 6 months (degarelix)" Degarelix is a monthly injection. It will reduce your testosterone level. Therefore this are not testosterone injections. I would add Abiraterone to extend the survival for several years.
Hi Barry, couple of suggestions. Update your bio so we can give you sound guidance.
When you say testosterone injections you should put anti infront of that because you have very little T left. Plus I actually take testosterone injections doing a BAT therapy.
So i take it you have bone mets? Any other mets?
You will have to take some forms of anti androgen medicine ADT till it fails. It will fail.
Our hopes are that a new treatment comes along that either cures us or allows us to keep the beast in check.
My hope is to prevent drug failure (castrate resistant) by doing pBAT which should keep the beast happy and fed androgen so it doesn’t find another way around the anti androgen medication.
You should have had somatic and germline genetic testing done. Would be helpful in your bio.
All the best!
