Unless my phone and computer calendars are wrong, today in the USA east coast is 4/15/23 and in the west coast is 4/14/23. You have time to get you lupron by 4/19/23.
It takes time for the testosterone to increase after stopping lupron. It is variable .The increase usually takes months to reach values above 50.
Screw Lupron jabs! Please try to find some DES ( I believe Patrick has a source), or the 'Patch', or transdermal E2 gel.
Five years ago the cancer had metastasized into my sacral lymph nodes and the surgeon that did my radical prostatectomy 20 years ago talked me into surgically removing the identified ones which did little to lower my PSA. Dr. Robert Flanagan at Loyola hospital in Maywood, Illinois (who cured my father and my older brother); however, is now retired, suggested that I try to find some DES. Instead, Dr. Richard J. Wassersug (my mentor) told me about transdermal E2 gel which has been keeping my PSA at undetectable levels for about 5 years now with ONLY tiny boobs as a side effect. I haven't been to a doctor since the unnecessary LN surgery 5 years ago.
That is bad advice. You’re not a doctor, you have no idea about Roy’s diagnosis, or current status. Suggesting dropping known SOC treatment for some anecdotal treatment is irresponsible.
You're 21 years younger than I am; however, I'm still 'working' on condos that I buy and sell. Your treatments don't appear to be doing much for you, so I guess what I'm doing is also a "bad" idea! Tell Dr, Richard Wassersug (my mentor) that he doesn't know what he's talking about and that his advice is "bad"!
My PSA levels for the last 4 years (since I started using the E2 gel) have been undetectable. Can you please tell me why using transdermal E2 gel is a " bad" idea?
20 years ago my urologist gave me about 5 years, and I'm still totally asymptomatic.
I simply made a suggestion, I'm not prescribing anything for anyone! I guess ONLY MDs know what's best for us. I had 3 regrettable prostate cancer (PCa) related surgeries since I was diagnosed with PCa and I refuse to have any more…not even the AUS surgery which I once considered! The RP left me totally incontinent and impotent, plus the cancer recurred, the nephrectomy was a BIG, BIG mistake since I lost a kidney for nothing, and the lymph node surgery was worthless (it merely lowered my PSA for a few months).
Perhaps I should scrap the E2 gel and get started on that wonderful "chemo"!
Good luck with your current therapy. I'm not being facetious…I truly wish you the best with your "SOC treatments"!
I would not worry until you get your Lupron injection April 23rd this Sunday. But on a Sunday? Youv'e got time to get it. I wish I knew about the DES or the 'Patch', or transdermal E2 gel.
