I believe that if you take calcium, you should also take magnesium so that it gets pushed into the bones and not just shows up in your blood. Also, we need to keep the calcium to magnesium ratio at no more than 2 to 1. When I was taking 800mg of calcium per day, I was also taking 400mg of magnesium bisglycinate (rather than the citrate form which gave me the runs if taken above 200mg).
Isn’t the absorption of calcium in the bones regulated by vitamin d3 and k2?

interesting article. My husband is getting Prolia, but only one injection so far so too early to see if it’s working. His calcium levels are good!
