Fascinating discussion about the process of PCa metastasis
Nalkarats must be reading Dr. Pienta's research. (or vice-versa)
Perhaps indicates how much we don't yet know. 129 years since Stephen Paget came up with the seed-soil metaphor, and it is still being used:
“When a plant goes to seed, its seeds are carried in all directions; but they can only live and grow if they fall on congenial soil. …While many researchers have been studying ‘the seeds’, the properties of ‘the soils’ may reveal valuable insights into the metastatic peculiarities of cancer cases.”
Actually, I was hoping that GreatJohn would have already added substance to the following metaphors, in his inimitable way:
How does the seed get to the soil?
Well, it's like the fox chases the squirrel & the grasshopper turns into a locust & flies to the soil. Was that too technical for anyone?
Perhap this video where Ken Pienta & Jim Frost discuss broken symmetry will help:

Edbar, Nice. Thanks
Big Ken Pienta fan, nothing but the highest respect for the man.
Very interesting article. I hope they’re not just talking about this issue, but are actively researching it. The clock ticks faster for those of us who are Stage 4 metastatic.
Both flicks were highly instructive and I got some insight into why my oncologists think my cancer is so aggressive. Thanks to EdBar and pjoshea13!!
