ADT and bone health

I am 79 in exceptional physical condition. I have been on ADT after radical Prostatectomy for over 14 months and to date aside from the sexual libido loss I have had very little side effects. I have always been a health / exercise buff & continue to exercise everyday to maintain my mental & physical health and so far very good results. The fact that I have an exceptional understanding wife helps with this adventure greatly.

My recent PSA has been increasing from .2 to .7 over 6 months and my onco is starting me on Nubeqa in Nov. because of the milder side effects. I have read the replies concerning bone health and I want to hear what has worked for anyone who is in my stage.

Your MO should have ordered a baseline DEXA scan upon starting ADT, and 1 every year to gauge any progression.

If you're an exercise buff, you're already ahead of the game.

Do request a DEXA, it's a modified Xray of the hips and lower back.

You may not need any bone strengthening because of your exercise history. An annual DXA scan will let you know.
