I finished treatment #5 on August 10th with a PSA of over 400. But worse than that was what it did to my hemoglobin and Platelet counts. Last week my hemoglobin was down to 6.2 and after 2 units of blood it only rose to 7.8. Platelet counts drooped to 18k.
I had a transfusion for both the platelets rose to 33k. This was my third transfusion in the past 2 months. I have no idea how long it's going to to get back to some kind of normalcy with both of these or how long it take Pluvicto to get completely out of my system.
Has anyone else had a similar experience, and how long did it take you to recover?

It's not a matter of getting it out of your system. The radioactive particles destroyed the cancer in your bone marrow, but also destroyed healthy bone marrow along with it. Beta particles from Pluvicto reach about 125 cells other than the ones they attach to. Bone marrow creates the components of your blood. It recovers very slowly.
This happened to my brother, 82, after his second Pluvicto treatment, March 2023. His WBC, Hgb, and platelets have never recovered, and he receives weekly transfusions while he tries a few months of a med called Inqovi which will hopefully stimulate bone marrow activity. He has been diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndrome. This basically means the bone marrow stopped producing cells.
His oncologists watched him carefully for several months hoping he would rebound. He had a bone marrow biopsy and this treatment plan was begun. We should know in 2-3 months how effective it is.
My brother’s PSA dropped from 205 to 1.16 after only the two treatments.
He feels great, no pain, good appetite, a little dizziness but no real complaints.
Me too, I ended up in hospital for 2 weeks because of blood clotting in my bladder. Platelets are important for clotting the blood lining around the wall of the bladder. They can fall out when platelets are low. I found I couldn’t pee and had to go to emergency for a catheter. They had to pump me to clear the blockage and replace the catheters, this went on for 2 weeks until my platelet levels increased.
I believe my pluvicto treatment is over after 4 treatments. Will find out this week for sure. Psa rising fast. Bone scan will tell on Wednesday! Hgb is ok
I started with Pluvicto in July 2022 with PSA at 308 and platelet count at 223. I was scheduled for number five infusion in January 2023 with my PSA up to 758 and platelet count at 112. They took me off Pluvicto treatment at that time. I started Docetaxel and carboplatin in late January, but had to reduce the percentage of each because platelet count continue to go down (low of 52)even though my PSA dropped from 758 down to 176.
I have stopped all chemotherapy treatment as of late August in hopes that platelet count will get much stronger. Looks like my next treatment will be in Nubeqa, but will not include Docetaxel.
Completed 3 infusions of Pluvicto and paused as PSA dropped 98% in 3 months but so did RBC, WBC, GG, Platelets and are slowing recovering without transfusions. Good luck!
