ED no more

My case is unusual in as much as I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer four years ago. A bone scan identified many areas where I had bone mets, even one between my shoulder blades on my spine that looked like structural surgery was inevitable. My PSA topped 1000 and I had zero treatments of any kind at that point. I was on my way to Vietnam for an 800 k cycle from North to South and stopped in Bangkok on the way where my daughter had arranged for a PSMA pet scan at the Samitevitj hospital ( voted Best Hospital in the world 2018-2019). Upon returning from Vietnam I stopped for 3 rounds of Lute 177 a month apart. We stayed for 4 months and my PSA dropped to 0.14 and cleared up my mets. The following year my PSA started doubling again so I went back. This time I had one more round of Lute 177 that completely restored my spine and cleared up some remaining mets. My Thai oncologist ordered 20 rounds of IMRT focussed on my prostate, gave me enough Luprine (Lupron in North America ) for a year and a half of HT shots taken every 3 months. Well, they were finished 9 months ago. I am still at 0.01 PSA and today I had my first orgasm! My running is improving and I have lost enough weight to be able to fit into my pre-Hormone T- shirts. No chemo, no Zigia, no ADT. Nothing outside of my previously stated treatments.I'm a happy camper (and so is my wife).

Great story!

Have you been having orgasms during the Lupron?

Does Lute 177 kill cancer cells?

No I suffered from ED during my year and a half of Hormone therapy. It's over and I'm back in the saddle.

I find this very interesting, Could you be a little more specific please. If it is embracing or too personal you could send me a pm

Lupron is ADT.

We’re you able to have sex while on Lupron? Did you have your testosterone checked at all, during or after Lupron.

There is a difference between orgasm and ejaculation .

Congratulations!

What is your testosterone level and how long ago it returned to that level? Basically how long after your discontinued Lupron to get back no natural testosterone levels.

hi I’m your bio it says you went from 10.80 down to 0.41 but in this post you mention topping a PSA of 1000. Could you clarify ?

I never heard of this treatment but I am very interested to know more because of the success that you have shared. Happy for you congratulations man!

In Bangkok 10.8 is the same as 1000. They calibrate it differently.

so why is lu 177 only available here after all other toxic treatments have failed

Don_1213 profile image

Cost.

Not a real medical reason AFAIK. A friend didn't want to do ADT (he was a creative person - a composer - and was concerned with the side-effects mentally..) but did want to do LU177. He was refused treatment anywhere in the US (despite being a retired professor from UCLA - even UCLA medical which did LU177 refused to consider it.) He had widespread mets causing pain.

So he went abroad. The first treatment was done in Germany and seemed to improve things. The second one was scheduled for Germany, but at the beginning of Covid - he was basically turned away at the door, so he went to Australia for the second treatment. Again it seemed to have a positive result (shinking tumors, lowered PSA). He couldn't find anyplace that would do a 3rd treatment during Covid, and he passed away about 6 months later from PCa.

The treatments cost him about $40,000 per treatment. LU177 was being done in the US in a number of locations, but none of them would accept him until he failed ADT, which he rather obviously couldn't do since he wasn't doing ADT.

I don't know of any studies done on getting LU177 treatments before ADT or Chemo. Maybe there are some and they don't show a favorable outcome, but if so - I haven't seen them.

I believe - as with many of our medical SOC treatments - the pre-cursor treatments are required because they MIGHT help and they're cheaper. It's a cost thing. Even when you can afford the treatments it seems some simply can't be done in the US due to polices like the LU177 policy. That sucks.

The cost in India last year was 24000 US with dr Sen. Likely different now. I understand there may be trials ongoing for use earlier in the disease ADT because of its long term nature profit generator. I was refused xtandi because i was not yet on lupron. Got that in generic form from india at very reasonable cost snd with good effect

Can I ask before you stopped the HT shots / since you stopped have you had PSMA PET scan to baseline from?

I just had one following a similar treatment path and thinking about stopping the injections. It showed all bone bones resolved and nothing new but a flash in apex of prostate.

Seeing MO next Monday
