Erleda and Memory Issues

I’ve noticed that since my dad has started Erleda 4 months ago, his memory almost immdiatly started declining. He is aware and frusterated by this as well.

Eligard shot started in August— memory was not effected by that, or no immediately. But the Erleda is immediate.

Has anyone else had this issue and switched to a different kind of testosterone receptor prohibitor? His PSA is at a .09 so it is working well… but maybe will have success with another kind?

Speaking with his oncologist on Friday. Any experiences or advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Odd, I would think Eligard would be more suspect. But, yes speak with oncologist as Erleda has a low instance of memory and cognitive issues.

I’ve noticed this with my dad! He’s just not as with it. Very often forgets conversations that we just had. The Erleada failed so we will see if it improves once he switches to something else

from personal experience, Orgovyx has less effects on memory

I am on Erleada as well but my memory loss is restricted to about the week after I get my quarterly shot. Other than that I haven’t had any problems

I've been on erleada for 3 years now and there is an effect on my memory but it seems to be in minor things, not day to day for work, peoples names definitely, but that was never a strong point, but at times I just can't find the right word for something. Frustrating, yes, but with a low T and undetectable PSA, very life affirming also.

My short term memory goes south with any ADT but it pretty much comes back during ADT holidays. This last year, my first on Erleada, was worse. I don’t know if that was because of Erleada or from 8 years of accumulated ADT. We’ve found ways to accommodate this loss which makes it less of an issue.

i started Erleada after i failed on Zytiga. I have definitely noticed my inability to come up with words. I do crosswords every day in the hopes that if i exercise my brain more it will come back to near normal after Im done. I go on a vacation next May. Hoping that all returns to normal…..Good Luck
