I started ADT a little over a year ago. I'm on Trelstar and my PSA is < 0.04. In March of this year I started taking Erleada. The side effects from both drugs have been minimal, some hot flashes and fatigue. Two months ago my doctor started me on Xgeva. The first dose I felt no ill effects, but the next dose kicked my butt. The day after the second injection I felt like I had the flu, body aches, chills, and my heart rate climbed to over 100 bpm. Luckily, I felt better the following day. Yesterday I go to my general practioner to have routine blood work done, and I find the my cholesterol, which is normally around 120 has climbed to 205, and my triglycerides have practically doubled. I'm on cholesterol meds, and after some investigation, I find that there is a moderate(??) drug interaction between the the Xgeva and my cholesterol meds. I'm wondering if it is going to be worth continuing the Xgeva. Any thoughts or comments?
Xgeva side effects?????: I started ADT... - Advanced Prostate...
Xgeva side effects?????
What was the interaction you found between Xgeva and statins - I couldn't find any. I'm on simvastatin & have had no SE (so far) with Xgeva,
I'm on Ezetimibe/Simvastatin for cholesterol. Go to Drugs.com/drug_interactions and you can compare the two drugs.
If your PSA was undetectable,
If your PSA was undetectable, why did you start switching drugs?
Those side effects are similar to what I've heard about. Does a bone density scan indicate any issues and if not, why are you taking Xgeva at all?
I had a bone scan done in 2022 and I had 3 lesions in my spine and pelvis. From what I read the Xgeva is standard treatment for prostate cancer that has metastasized to the bone.
MydogisDead...............There's plenty of people who think my ex-wife killed him and ate him. It's still under investigation.....

I am 72. In great health except for metastatic prostate cancer. Been on xgeva for almost 4 years. The shot hurts. I adk them to spray numbing spray befor the injection. I get 3 months at a time. I have had no problems. No broken bones. The cancer had attacked my thoracic spine. So I am kind of stuck. Check with your vancer doc about the adverse reactions. Try to hang in there my friend. God bless. Not easy getting old.
