first off I just wanted to say thank you so much for everyone who responded to my previous post. For someone who is an inexperienced and worried daughter, I really appreciated everyone’s perspective.
If you don’t recall, my dad’s PSA had gone up from 1.66 to 3.44 in about 2 months. His testosterone also went up from 6 ng/dL to 17. His MO did not speak to him about this nor did she check back at the results. After reading all you responses, we did call the oncology nurse a few times and left messages, eventually the message did get to the MO.
The MO stated that it’s not a real concern to her unless it continues rising, but she would schedule another appointment and blood test in 6 weeks. (His appointment will be on June 20th).
Since then, my dad has been having quite a bit of pain in his back and leg to where he has a very heavy limp. He had his nephrostomy tubes changed which we hoped might help as his tube was displaced. Following that appointment, his notes said that they ordered a nephrostogram due to ureteric obstruction from metastatic prostate cancer. These tube changes are very routine so we have never seen them put that information on there before, so fingers crossed there isn’t any new growths. His pain has not subsided since the tube change, he still has a bad limp and is in pain. His appointment with his actual urologist isn’t until Wednesday, we will certainly go with him and ask him as many questions as he can answer.

Has anyone experienced a significant decrease in PSA on Zytiga and then an increase 
my PSA has helium in it! ! !
