Doc, If I ate like you I would be farting more than sparkles, I'm just say'n
Awesome news about the continued lack of SE's. I'm glad to hear that your IMRT treatments are nearing the end, and that you are still churning out the miles.
Mahalo Bruddah, my Manager did 6 miles with me and did pitstops at the office during the walk. And just received Chocolate covered Macadamia nuts that are for them on last day. A lil Aloha from the Islands
Always nice to have good company on a long walk/hike.
I know your team will enjoy the chocolate macadamia nuts. I know this because I practically ate the state's entire supply during my time on the islands. On one of my trips my work Ohana used to send me cases of them. They also gave me a beautiful lei that I cherish as well. Even though it doesn't taste as good as the choc nuts.
Looks like you'll be ready for that hike if you did 22 without issue. Good work man, its good having a goal. I wish it was warm enough here to escalate my exercise but we can't seem to break 50 degrees and constant rain.
Yea, I should be fine except that we start 8500 and we're only at 4000ft here. But the LA people are doing training hikes a way lower elevation, so they may be in for a shcok.
Yes goals are great and it gets my butt out, I signed up for the Honolulu marathon this December, it's the only one with no time limit 😁
Oh yikes about 50 and rainy, that'll sap your warmth like crazy
I agree elevation plays a huge roll and for those LA hikers it will be epic. Especially if the weather doesn't play nice. There will be a temperature difference between 8500 and 4000 as well. Hope itos a warm bright beautiful day for you. Yes 50 and rainy or 50 and sunny with 18 mi per hour winds like today seems like all we can get lately. Still like this long very hot showers after my ride. But good weather will be here soon.
Peace brother, I will be rooting for you every step of those 28 miles and cheering when you post the finish.
We gonna start a 4am and I have a headlamp/trekking poles from when I did Mt Whitney. Gonna layer up and take off as it warms up. Just ordered a waterproof outdoor camera to document it and if I do the Camino Frances next year, I'll bring it with me
we have wild boar here (escaped domestic piggies) a few friends have offered to share when they get one. i have a backhoe so no problem digging a pit yummmm!
Oh those would be great. Our Hawaiian Club did a pig in an "imu" on our LA college campus. We had to bring volcanic rocks from home. When you take it out and so delish to grab/eat the crispy pork skin off the chicken wire
wow, ok I’ll try again. This is my third attempt to respond to this thread , I hope this one doesn’t disappear, two others seemed to take but aren’t seen on the post.
I said that I’m over the Zometa mostly. Woke up yesterday enough to make a couple of QOL posts, then the hammer …. Having her pre 420 celebration…. Got me “ hammered “ ( pun yayayayYayayayay ) and my head is still spinning a bit this morning.
Anyway, the food looks great …and 420 makes you - me hungry too yayahahahaya. So, you’re nearly done with your rads , do you get a scan and blood panel to see how you did ? When will we know the results - benefits you accomplished with that treatment ? Anxious to find out how you did buddy.
The weather is getting nice again, time for a coastal or zoo trip , hopefully. Seems like I’m fighting to get myself off this couch and get “ out there “. Dang it .. yayahahahaya.
The disappearing has happened to me also, very odd.
Yay for being over Zometa and LoL about The Hammer getting you Hammered 😂
I have standing orders at the Kaiser lab up here, so I roll in like every 3 weeks or so for Blood work. RO said "Nice that's progress" about PSA dropping from 34 to 22
Last IMRT on 04/26 - gonna bring Prosecco for them and Chocolate covered Mac nuts. The AIS front desk lady and I gonna plan something for that day, and maybe blow up social media again LoL
Getting Kaiser to approve PSMA was a pain, hopefully there won't be any issue post radiation. I have RO cons next Tuesday and then about a month later, will check on time frame for scan.
He was able to order Signatera testing at no cost and the lab will take my biopsy sample and analyze it and use the DNA info from the PCa as a personalized assay to detect recurrence down the road. natera.com/oncology/signate...
YASS about nicer weather, my last trip to Ventura on Easter and it was cloudy and chilly.
Yea, you gotta get some Coastal Therapy Bruddah Kal and Cioppino. Get er done😁
Well we’re , me …everybody waiting to hear that good news buddy. That nice drop is good , so let’s see that go back down to 0.1 . Or close as you can get.
I had monthly blood panels every month for nearly 4 years , I know what’s that like. …. Having to go in.
You influenced me to take 2 dozen cookies into my Zometa infusion crew for their break room. Ya Yayahahahaya. I heard one kinda mutter , “ look at all those carbs “ yayahahahaya. I’m pretty sure they didn’t go to waste tho. It’s the thought that counts I guess 😂😂😂.
Yea buddy, I’ve lined up some things on my list that are going forward … ( some renewal on the Silverado , work on house , work on my etrike ) this to get up and out, I’m a lil shaky after the Zometa, gotta shake that off. Right now , being in central California is better than the coast , temp wise and spring flowers / citrus bloom wise. People come from all over the country and world to drive the orange blossom trail in full bloom. Experiencing that burn your nostrils intense mind boggling fragrance is one of the pure pleasures of the planet. It’s intoxicating for me. .
Let’s see some more QOL runs and food food food. .. big guy. You da king of QOL bruddha.
My PSA nadir was in Fall 2017 @ 0.1 from 840.2 at Dx 2015. So, data showed the longer and lower you take to get TTN (Time to Nadir) the better the prognosis. I'm hopeful, LoL I know that you already know that.
Awesome about taking cookies, yes it's the kind thought that counts and you're Making Ripples/Spreadin Aloha also
Oh superbloom out there and it gorgeous, I saw on Facebook pic of the Antelope Valley Poppy preserve parks.ca.gov/?page_id=627
I'm gonna have to take a lil trip there
I'm down for more QoL posts despite the few grumpy ones on HU LoL.
well I think a lot of us are hoping you get good results from all the work you are having done and can set aside worrying about this crap for a nice long while buddy. Cut loose and forget about this for a while. Focus on your fun stuff more directly.
If you drive over this way to see some bloom, go to the Fresno Orange Blossom Trail site and look at where that is. Coming from the south, jump on in Reedly or Orange Cove and make the “ oranges blossom “ loop. Orange trees have a very powerful intoxicating fragrance that blows your mind. Driving the trail will put you smack dab in the middle of tens of thousands of trees ( maybe more ) ….the fragrance there is extremely intense. Depending upon which way the wind is blowing , you might have to circle some groves. Keep a look out for the farm produce stands that are opened locally on the marked train. They’ll be loaded with fresh veggies and fruit.
well, you gotta keep focusing on the up side yayahahahaya. You do seem to have a pretty slow growing type of PC plus like you said there are still options available. I know its frustrating, if that’s even the right word. All of us know the “ skinny “ , but it doesn’t make it any easier.
I like your “ I ain’t gonna dwell on it “ , ….. dwelling on this crap accomplishes nothing except bumming ourselves out yayahahahaya. Dang it all anyway.
You’ll never regret a” orange blossom trail “ visit. People fly here from Japan, and Europe just to do the oranges ( and local natl parks ) . It’s wonderful. I’ve got two trees in my back yard blooming out right now and it’s wondbut like a candle in a storm compared to tens of thousands of trees budded out yayahahahaya.
