I painted a Memorial stone for my Aunt Betty, Chinese character means Peace. Sat am did another long hike up here to prep for my Make a Wish May Day Bday hike (pm me for more info😁), drove down for Beach Therapy in Ventura. Did more miles and got lovely sunset pix. Got fried chicken (guilty pleasure babee) and had it with leftover clam linguini.
Sun am hiked up to Serra Cross and back down thru the Botanical Gardens. Did a seafood break fast - to replenish protein from the long *ss hike on Sat. Cleaned up the Memorial Tile and placed my Aunt's there also. Rest in Peace Gentleman and Betty🙏.
Chatted with the Bracelet Lady - Leticia for a while. This March marks 25 years with my dental office, made bracelets for my pts. AIS sent out mailers with this brown guy in it😂
So good to see that you took a break from your normal crazy *ss weekends. Way to chill bruddah.
Continue to be impressed by how much QOL you are squeezing from life and by your strength and energy. While I can’t keep up with you, I’m always encouraged by your posts to keep on moving and living.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah CB and LoL, my weekends may get crazier as the weather warms up :-). Around Weds I start checking Ventura weather forecast and I have a fav Motel with a nice Indian lady who I joke with, Its walking distance to the overpass to the pier and at $59/night it's a steal
You can tell I'm antsy and restless, changin venue esp at Da Beach does wonders for the Soul. So glad to inspire others esp to QoL
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah Kal, the wind and cold up here vs a lil over 2hr trek down to Sunshine/Beach, maybe with a road beer or two omw down esp after doing those miles. A stop at Trader Joe's for snacks and local beers then off to San Buenaventura Park. This last trip had a purpose cuz it like hit me Duh – I gotta paint a Stone for Aunt Betty and with the weather, I wanted to check on the Tile. There's a pic in the album of the bush overgrowing it – that was massive growth. So the trip had multi purposes Beach Therapy, Betty's stone, tidy up the Tile, and hike, sunbathe, eat and have beers.
Haven't heard from the Funeral Home about Her Cremains, and Wells Fargo still working on her accounts
Yeasssss buddy, those soul healing negative ions fresh off the ocean … those deep vibrations of the surf …. a little a Dos Equis juice ….. honoring Aunt Betty , plus all that leg conditioning . You’ve been a dynamo there buddy. Nice to see you out and about and do’n your thing. It’s been raining but not a lot.
lol ryte on my bruddha. You da example I’d like to be. Go’n to start getting out myself, with beautiful weather headed our way buddy. Got my drones all jacked up, ready to enjoy some flight time.
You really know how to live. Sometimes hiking downhill is a challenge. Weird challenge for muscles that aren't used to it. I need to get out there while the weather is still mild here in the Phoenix area.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah, coming up on 10 years with #stageivpca this October. Still enjoy seeing my pts during the week, but weekends are for hikes, food, beers, beach and sun. The pic is the elevation and umm, it says I started below sea level😃
DEXA from a couple yrs ago said I was osteopenic, so I dig downhills to stress my leg bones to make them denser.
Yea, get out whilst weather is cool before it gets way hotter
Mahalo nui loa Sista Mouse and YASS I'm QoLing esp Beachside and make Photo Albums that I can always go back to reminisce and I also post to Facebook which has a “memories' feature that pops up almost daily and I can look and say Awwww
Love that IZ song!! We Hawaii students all learned this one in Hawaiiana Class
And My Pleasure to Memorialize the Loved Ones Taken. It started in 2015 with the bibs on my back at marathons, then segued into Men Taken ones and now I have a physical one that I will upkeep for as long as I'm around
The night before the last Trailblaze for Make a Wish, the race director asked each of us to stand and state why they were there. I said that I had #stageivpca and had raised over $15,000 for the Men and now it was time to help the kiddos. You shoulda seen the looks on their faces
In Tehachapi the Pacific Crest Trail comes nearby and I have pts who are trail Angels and they pick up PCTers and take them to hotels, Walmart, post office eg. So for my Make your own Wish, I'm still doing 28 miles but at 4000 not at 8600 like in Big Bear and on the PCT up here. Gonna see if pts wanna hike a lil with me
Awww, Mahalo nui loa Sis. The $15k raised allowed me to do 4 NYC marathons as a charity entry, benefiting ZERO The end of prostate cancer. Wait til you hear what I have planned for my 10 yr Cancerversary this Fall - working out the logistics
Loved the pictures and it gave me a chance to reminisce a little.
Thought I would share one with you. Some 60 years ago I would fly over your town on a pre planned route called Overland South and make a left turn to head East and thread the needle through the restricted airspace out of Edwards AFB. I am sure your town has grown some over those years.
My wife does custom jewelry and she buys some amazing pottery pieces from a lady who lives in your town. Her name is Klew. You may know her.
Small world indeed!
Thanks for the memories.
PS I restore classic and modern roadsters and loved the car pictures. Awaiting some parts to convert one to electronic ignition and supplement the mechanical fuel pump with a hidden inline electrical pump. Both projects to improve starting, etc after their winter naps. My Spring projects now that the snow has melted and I can get to the lower garage again.
Mahalo nui loa and that's so awesome that you flew over Kern, there's an HU gent who's a Railroad engineer and he's been on the Tehachapi Loop dozens of times!!
LoL, Klew may or may not be my pt - HIPAA. Years ago I pulled my #1 son's upper wisdom teeth out, I drilled a hole thru the chewing surface thru the roots, sterilized them and got silver wire from Klew and did loops thru those teeth. My son gave them to his girlfriend at the time😁
Oh how cool about working on cars, I have many pts who do that also. A pt has my 1957 Bel Air, a 4 door, unfortunately. And we gotta figure out what we should do
Yea😭, and I've done this list for years and have had to add dozens. One of the First Gents on here who contacted me on HU was CERICWIN - a wonderful man
All I do when I see your posts is to check the "Plaque" (not the kind on teeth) to see if my UserID is on it.......So far so good........ keep up the good work......
