Sounds like a full weekend already Randy. I'm impressed with the 14 miles. My hip joints have been bothering me lately, so I've had to cut back my mileage. Now averaging 3.5 miles four days a week, and weights twice a week, with a day of rest thrown in for good measure.
The only way I could get in 28 miles in a week, if there were 8 Days A Week.
Yea, over three hrs to get to Aunt in OC, stopped at bro in laws for a chat and a beer, then had a chiro/acupuncture appt, then 3 hrs back up here. LoL
Long *ss day
Then the 14 miles the next day, but that's kinda therapeutic for me, my "thang" so to speak :-). And I'm doing it for a wonderful cause
I did pit stops at home and stopped the Map App.
Dude, you're still getting out for 3.5 4 days/week, that's awesome Brother with weights too.
Nice hike at 14 miles. My recent bone scan confirmed arthritis in my right knee and ankle and thats where I feel it on longer walks. Usually over 5 miles. Here in the PNW its the elevation that plays as much of a roll in that. 14 miles on the PCT did you record your elevation ? Up here it would probably be at least a couple of 1000 ft. The food looks delicious. The kimchee looks a bit pale in the pic. Was it spicy?
Cool, so is the 28 mile hike your training for on the PCT? And your training around town? Or will you do it as a virtual hike like many of the ones you post?
Hi, I'm training around town for the in person 28 miler on the PCT in Big Bear CA. So far there are 19 others signed up and they did a training hike around Lake Hollywood of like 3.8 miles. I took the hike date of May 13th and went backwards on the Calendar every two weeks and subtracted 2 miles each couple of weeks to have a training sch. which got me to the 12 miles two weeks ago. Gonna add 2 miles every two weeks til end of April, then I'll taper
Here's the info from their site. I'm the Top Fundraiser so far, so many of my awesome pts have donated.
Yea at 3 miles/hr at 6000 ft, it'll be 9 hrs!! But, like when I was on the Camino Frances in Spain, we took our time stopped, ate, had beers and moved on.
There will be a ton of support out there too. I'm just gonna take it easy and enjoy the scenery, and ya know they'll be a QoL post about it with a link to Google Photos
