Hey all you QoL posters smelling the flowers in California and Hawaii, we’re still enjoying winter here in Colorado!
Every day I ski is the best day of my life! Being in the mountains makes my spirit soar, and communing with the trees and the snow and the wind makes me feel part of something timeless.
It’s important to stay hydrated at altitude, and our COVID protocol is to not pass the beer anymore but to always have a collapsible cup on hand. That’s me who’s all grey. My skiing ability has been my measure of recovery from chemo, I started out in January like a wobbly newborn calf, but now my hemoglobin and much strength has recovered to what it was before, and I’m really enjoying being out there.

Thanks for being a pioneer in these posts. I am surprised by the response and had no idea that people really like to hear about our various extracurricular antics!
Agree. Love the Mountains. Have lived in Ski Towns 6 of my 69 years. Speaking of hydration, I guess the ADT2 flurry of pharmacology must create dehydration because last Winter in a house we rented at 9,200’ elev, I had the only case of Altitude Sickness ever. Extreme. Ended up in ER in Denver with all kinds of crazy symptoms, after vomiting at least 15 times. But…..2 days later, we still had the house rented for a week. Went back up, and got in 2 glorius days of navy blue sky’s. Back on skiis after boarding past 25 years. Love the silence in the trees. It is a magical time.
That sounds intense! It’s strange that it can just come out of nowhere, even for us who are acclimated to altitude! Glad that you recovered quickly and could get some runs in!
sounds like a great trip skiing , sounds like you had a lot of fun. That’s what QOLing is all about brother. Keep up the good work. Thanks for posting your inspirational trip.
I went to HS in Idaho Springs. When the snow came the school day stretched except for Thursday when we left school at 11. Loveland had $2 lift tickets for us. Great times. What areas do you ski?
I live in Boulder and Eldora is just 35 minutes up the canyon. My friend just texted me "do you want to go up?" and an hour later we're skiing. It's just the ticket as it's not a big commitment to the I-70 traffic. ADT has limited what I can do, we usually do a trip to Aspen or Telluride at some point during the winter but not the last two.
