Antitumor Effects of Curcumin Prodrug

The high conversion rate of curcumin prodrug TBP1901 to curcumin in bone marrow warrants its clinical application for diseases growing in the marrow like multiple myeloma and leukemia. The natural polyphenol curcumin has shown promising efficacy with tumors in a number of preclinical models.

Prodrug curcumin displays clinical potential.

In cancer clinical studies, curcumin, a natural molecule related to turmeric, has been used to treat cancer patients.

Despite its known antitumor effects, drug development has lagged due to challenges involving its chemistry.

Now, a team of researchers at Kyoto University has developed a prodrug form of curcumin, TBP1901, that has shown anti-tumor effects without toxicities.

I have been drinking daily a turmeric tea since diagnosis. I was just at a conference last week on occupational medicine and the speaker talked again about the literature on turmeric. It is quite large. The tea is tasty, is "natural" and easy to make.

process in food processor:

3 oz turmeric root

1..5 oz. ginger root

2 tsp black pepper

1 tbsp honey

1 tbsp lemon juice

I put a heaping teaspoon in a cup of hot water. Drink daily. The pepper is necessary for the absorption of the turmeric/curcumin.

There may be a danger of curcumin increasing vulnerability to kidney stones.

"Curcumin may also increase your risk for developing kidney stones if you're prone to them, notes the American Cancer Society, because it appears to change how your body processes oxalate, one of the components of some types of kidney stones."

There is probably some general health benefits from adding turmeric to your food or taking curcumin supplements, but that is not what this report is talking about.

These guys are refining or extracting some part of the curcumin and injecting it into arteries to get results. That’s a far different thing than just throwing some curcumin your mouth. How much would you have to eat to get the same level? Would it even make it past the liver?

I have Prostate Cancer Adenocarcinoma grade 7 "caught early" biopsy June 2022, proposed 20 sessions radiotherapy, [imminent] I also have Schwannomatosis NF3 [since 1970] three surgery's removals schwannomas, I also have Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy [since 1970] a double seizure in 2018, Turmeric/Curcumin pills relieves pressure, equilibrium, balance since September 2021👍[prescribed aspirin would be influenced by Epilepsy medication] .
