Hi Tall_Allen, would he still have the prednisone?

Nubeqa, it seems to have great results, so he is afraid of asking for it, since Dr never mentioned it

My husband’s has sever plaque psoriasis, he can no longer take an injection type or oral suppressant due to his prostate cancer

I noticed his glucose is high 260 from 160 when he had a flare after last docetaxel chemotherapy

Any thoughts on all that?

Needs prednisone with docetaxel.

But not everyday with Nubeqa ?

i didn't take my Prednisone with Docetaxel. Professor Epstein approved that to me, but the nurses in the chemo section were ni happy. Probably fearing that I could develop some reaction. Of course I was taking dexamethasone around my chemotherapy. A Finnish study didn't use Prednisone, only dexamethasone like me around the infusions. I am not an oncologist. You should ask your oncologist for approval not to use Prednisone. He may approve it to you.

It is not taken with Nubeqa. Zytiga prevents the adrenals from manufacturing testosterone and cortisol. One takes only enough prednisone with it to replace what is lost.

Nubeqa does not need prednisone. It is effective and probably the best tolerated of the new anti androgens.

Thank you, we are just trying to figure out why our Dr chose zytiga over Nubeqa when my husband was diagnosed this past July 2022 and started treatment, maybe because the PSA 942.40 was so high, and he is considered I think between low and high volume…I guess my husband can start after next and third of six docetaxel chemotherapy treatments, if Medical Oncologist agrees

I am taking Nubeqa with Lupron. It is very effective. Last PSA is .3 That is the lowest it has been in a long time, Probably 20 years. Not many additional side effects other than what ADT gives you. Not sure how long it will last but riding that horse till then! First had prostatectomy un 2002, Radiation in 2004, Intermittent for quite a while. 4+3 Gleason. Battling a long time.

How long have you been on Nubeqa?

because of the clinical study shows a jump in longevity

It should be prescribed in the beginning which my husband was newly diagnosed in July after FDA approval in March 2022,

Been taking Nubeqa since 6/2021 with monthly Lupron. Psa undetectable at <0.02. Started because a 6 month shot of Eligard failed. Psa doubled twice in monthly tests to 2.0.

No issues other than zero energy. Go to gym daily and Silver Sneakers 3 time a week. Do necessary things but take breaks often.

Expensive but Medicare covers all but $500 a month. My state, NY, has EPIC that covers all but $20.00. Last yr The Assistance Fund did the same.

My Inco has had great success with Nubeqa/Lupron

OM me if questions.

6 months, Lupron was still working but not reducing PSA low enough. Nubeqa knocks numbers with adding additional side effects, at least for me!
