hi all - quick summary. My husband has asymptomatic prostate cancer from pelvis to lungs to soft tissue in brain. Currently getting Docetaxal and Lupron, with Zytiga just added. Completed brain radiation. A Tempus test revealed a CDC73 mutation, normally associated with thyroid cancer (thyroid checks out fine). Doc says because it’s not a normal prostate cancer mutation, this doesn’t change treatment plan or provide new guidance. Just checking with this brilliant community to see if anyone has experience with this mutation. Thank you!

My genomic test of the biopsy sample showed a bunch of mutations that are normally associated with colon cancer. But, they also show up, less often, in prostate. CDC73 also shows less often in prostate cancer. Don’t forget, this is genomic testing of the tumor, not germ line testing.
Yes, your doctor is correct. CDC73 is an isolated mutation and is not found to correlate with prostate cancer.
