Switching from Firmagon to Lucrin or Eligard

Hi, this is ALEX from Malaysia. First Dx 2016 psa 8.34, gs 3+4. Had RP 10/2017 with positive margin. Did salvage IMRT 8/4/2019 at psa 2.43 without adt.

After 2nd Bcr post Salvage RT, psa rose from 0.05 to 0.94 , I started on FIRMAGON on 8/ 3/ 2022.

( Throughout this 5 1/2 year journey, a total of 4 PSMA PET-CT were done without any uptake)

In view of many SE such as dizziness, hip joint pain, brain fog, BMI issues, hot flash ,have intention to switch after the sixth jab to a LHRH agonist. Any advice from members here will be much appreciated.

You should take an ADT holiday and restart if the PSA value e.g. rises above 10 ng/ml. Or get a Bicalutamide monotherapy while on holiday.

? His PSA is 0.94 and rising.

I understood that he started Firmagon when his PSA value rose to 0.94 ng/ml.

There is no reason to expect and change in SEs, which derive from low T and low E.

At a certain point, if your PSA keeps rising, you'll probably get another PSMA scan, and radiate any oligometastasies.

Let's hope your PSA goes undetectable, or nadirs at a low level, at which point you can take ADT vacations.

PSA dropped to 0.01ng/ml on 13/5/22 after 3 jabs
