Hello all champions! today we had our appointment 14 weeks after starting zytiga. The psa continues to drop and is at 13, the doctor in that sense says that it is very good because it continues to drop and on top of that slowly and he prefers it... but my father has experienced dyspnea in the last month and a half that has made his life impossible That is why our doctor has decided to suspend the treatment and has ordered us to do an echocardiogram this Friday in case there is any injury to the heart. He says that we will see what the result is, if it is a consequence of Zytiga or not and that we will surely start with Xtandi. How do you see this change? what are your chances of responding? The analysis has come out very well, everything is normal: hemoglobin, platelets, albumin, creatinine, alkaline phosphatase (even lower than at the beginning of zytiga). The result of the scintigraphy says that there are no more mets but there are 2 that have more uptake since the last one that was done in 2020... Even so, right now he has no pain... I don't know what to think and I would greatly appreciate your experiences and knowledge . I hope I have explained the situation well and as I always tell you... I'm sorry but my English is the same as Google's translator. A kiss and thanks for being there.

Most men who switch, do so due to resistance to Zytiga. In that situation, there may be resistance to Xtandi. However, your father does not appear to have developed resistance, so he should respond to Xtandi.

Thank you very much for your answer, but I don't know if I can withstand the side effects or not...

Xtandi would be a good next move if the side effects from zytiga are too much.

No side effects from Xtandi? Or just some react better than with Zytiga?

Everyone responds differently to ADT drugs. Some can't handle the Prednisone that goes with zytiga.
