Could any of you share your experiences with Neulasta? My husband has been on chemo for quite a while, which hasn’t worked. He has been on Jentava they just now added Carboplatin along with the Jevtana to see if this combo works. He had one shot of neulasta quite a while ago and ended up with a fever. For those of you on chemo do you use Neulasta or do you just do the chemo itself?

Neulasta
During Chemo (Jevtana and Taxotere)- Neulasta was so important to keep the fevers at bay. I gave the shots to him at home.
Very important, especially during the pandemic. Take with an antihistamine to prevent an allergic reaction.
While doing 9 dosings of docetaxel last year I was given 9 on-body dosings of neulasta as well. I had it placed on tummy fat just above the belt. All 9 went off the day following chemo at the right time. I have to believe they helped strengthen my immune system; I remained cold & flu free. My onc has not offered them during my cabazitaxel dosings; I would use them if offered!
I just started my first chemo treatment yesterday, using Cabazitaxel and Carboplatin. Too early for experiencing any side effects at this point. Feeling good on day 1+.
I was given a Neulasta patch to enhance my white blood cell count emanating from my bone marrow. It was attached to my stomach, as it has less of a chance of coming off accidentally than by placing it on the arm. The patch has a battery in it, and will automatically give me a shot of the medicine 27 hours after completed chemo. No fuss, no muss.
I had 6 rounds of Docetaxel. My immune system was wiped out after thefirst round and ended up in the ER. I received the Neulasta for all the
other rounds proactively, and never got sick. As Tall Allen says, it's very
important. It's expensive, so they seem to wait to see if you need it before
giving it, at least in my situation.
