Hi - My husband had both but not together. He is resistant to both drugs. Do you have a mutation to where your oncologist thinks Keytruda combo will be beneficial? Is this the first time you have tried docetaxel? What is your age??
Hello, Now I do not know about mutations. My MO collected my blood only two days ago. I will post the results later. I do not have experience with docetaxel yet. I am 71 y.o., and I was diagnosed with PC at my 57. In 2012, my cancer was back after surgery and radiation. Lupron worked good up to 2019. Zytiga had only short effect.
I am a big fan of combining docetaxel with immunotherapy. The docetaxel increases antigen presentation, while the immunotherapy helps with the immune system depleted by the docetaxel - a win-win. It seemed to prevent progression in the Phase 2 trial:

The combination with a different PD-L1 inhibitor (Opdivo) tested well too:
My understanding about Keytruda's effectiveness for PC patients is that you should be MSI and have a high tumor burden. Such markers would be found from having genetic testing.
I would be inclined towards that trial. Potentially significant benefit at reasonable risk for major adverse effects. And you can always stop it if problematic.
Greetings Catfish21,

Hello John,
In 2007, I was diagnosed at Kaiser Hospital, CA. Gleason was 9/9, PSA=7. I was 57 y.o. In 2008, I got prostatectomy then radiation. In 2011, my PC was back, and in 2012, my MO suggested me to participate in Provenge+Lupron trial. When we stopped Lupron injections in 2013, as a control test, the bone scan shortly showed several bone metastasis. So, Provenge had minimal effect. In 2013, I moved to TX, and signed as a patient at MD Anderson Cancer Center. My new MO, told me that they also had Provenge trial but without good results. He recommended me to go with Lupron only. In 2019, Lupron stopped working (PSA=33, multiple metastases in bones), and MO added Zytiga in 2020. Zytiga worked for ~1 year and decreased the number of metastasis (PSA=0.9). But now some metastases were back with PSA=4. So, as I have written above, MO suggested me to participate in Keytruda+docetaxel trial.
Thank you for your quick and detailed response. Since it's now on your home page it will be beneficial for your easy reference as well as our members' easy reference. I have been treated with Keytruda for a lung melanoma and it's working. So I hope and pray it works for your Pca. God Bless and Kept posting.
