I was diagnosed in 2004, had an RP in 2010, and have been on hormonal treatments ever since.
My NHS oncologist told me today that the Xtandi I am currently being prescribed might last for the remainder of this year and possibly next. After that the treatment she can offer (NHS) is docetaxel, though she is wary of prescribing me that as she thinks I am not strong enough to withstand the minimum of 6 cycles she would wish to see. Even if I do, she thinks my survival might be measured in months only.
I am posting here not in the hope of raising indignant replies or suggestions for other treatment (there is no point asking for what she cannot prescribe). Why am I posting then? I really am not sure. Perhaps to be given some advice on how I can make myself strong enough to withstand the treatment. Any thoughts?

The xtandi “usually” works well for about 20 months. But as you know each case is different.
Then you might ask if they can give you LU 177. It might get approved by your medical plan sometime down the road. The LU has really helped many beat back the beast. In my case it helped for about 5 mos.
A very wise person once said "You never know". Live like today is your last, have as much fun as you can. Because you never know, you might live longer than anyone thinks. Enjoy the time you have.
I got through the full Taxotere protocol at age 66 by keeping up my regular exercise routines (mostly cycling and tennis). I also use a CPAP every night to ensure my sleep apnea does not interfere with my sleep. I stopped alcohol consumption during the chemotherapy.
I am in the Eclipse Trial which is trying to convince the FDA that Lu 177 can be used vs. Chemo, due to far less side effects. My Docs., with the Center of Excellence (St. Louis University) are fairly confident that they will convince the FDA of this.
