Does anyone know if taking levothyroxine (Levo) a generic medication to treat underactive thyroid gland (hypothyroidism) causes or exacerbates PCa?
I’ve been taking Levo since 2014 after being diagnosed with hypothyroidism. 4 years later, in 2018, I was diagnosed with PCA. I’m wondering if there was a link.
Some sources say taking desiccated thyroid extract (T3) instead of Levo is safer and could reduce the likelihood of PCA.
I’m wondering whether to change my medication to include T3 but it is difficult to procure in UK.
Note: Between 2014 and 2018, I received testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) injections. I wonder if that caused or contributed to my PCA.
Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.
