My MO wants me to add jevtana to the meds I already take --- seems to be to much for my body to handle. Any thoughts on this? Thanks...

jevtana added to lupron and xtandi, too much?
Jevtana is next for my husband. I'm under the impression that he will always be on Lupron. His onc did mention that xtandi might be back. If this happens it will be in January..
I'm not on Lupron (orchiectomy to get off of it). Xtandi (1/2 dose) gave me a good run. When PSA started to climb we just watched it for about 5 mo., Then it skyrocketed. MO said I could quit Xtandi as it wasn't working.. Clear bone and ct scans. Then Na-F18 scan showed new pelvic bone mets. New study out showed that even when a treatment like Xtandi showed rising PSA it should be continued as it was still working on the Pca that was susceptible to it. Just new mets from new mutation growing. Zapped 2 new mets and PSA was dropping after 4 of 6 shots.. Xtandi seems to still be holding the old mets in check. Long winded way to say, add the Jevtana for new mets and keep Xtandi for the old mets..
Why do you say it is too much for your body to handle?
I see a severe shortness of breath and worse nerve pain....
Maybe you have an intolerance for the new med. I did experience shortness of breath and weight loss when I took Casodex even though not many people experience that. We're all different so it's hard to predict how we will react to drugs.
long battle going here but want to say a few years ago Jevtana was one of the things that worked great for me and kicked the cancers butt. Still holding steady to this day with lupron and Xtandi. My onc at the time commented that Jevtana should be first line treatment instead of Docetaxel. I concur
Aggressive treatment early may be better than saving your bullets for later. Keep an open mind to it.
