Xtandi Monotherapy = To Lupron or Castration

I just read a study where Xtandi Monotherapy was equal to Lupron with way less long term side effects

Below meet my pal Gustave having a hippo for lunch...he has killed 300 men...I plan on wrestling Gustave when Xtandi fails...why go out on a morphine drip when you can go out in style.

From what I experienced , and what I have read from men who post, IMO the side effects of xtandi are a little worse than lupron. In particular the fatigue. Also adding xtandi when Lupron fails gives more time yet.

That is a good question , I do not know anyone who started xtandi after Lupron.

I don't think it's approved yet for monotherapy, only for MCRPC. My understanding is that trials are underway.

I am going to go on Xtandi for 6 mos., shortly following advice of my oncologist. I have a had brachytherapy , radiation and a course of Lupron before these treatments and following these therapies... PSA recently at 11.0 .

I am currently on Xtandi, 1-2 40 mg/day and hormone sensitive. No LHRH drug for the last two years. Both my oncologists say that if Xtandi loses effectiveness then LHRH drug will restore low psa. In other words, the reverse of the normal prescribing protocol.

that is really good news if Xtandi resistance does not mean castrate resistant
