I get transfusions every Thursday. I have been tolerating treatment quite well and feel good. I drove an hour and played 18 holes of golf last Friday, one day after treatment. It was a bit risky as I have experienced muscle cramping for 24-48 hours from the beginning. That is less of an issue each week, so I decided to do it with a long-time friend.
The big news for today is actually not about me. I have been communicating regularly with an immunotherapy bro. His PSA has dropped from 87 to 4 and he had scans last week. He reviewed them with our mutual oncologist this morning and received spectacularly good news. Tumors have regressed!!
To date, I do not have consistent evidence of improvement. My full body bone and CT scans and PSA from Jefferson lab will be next week.
I am thrilled for news of progress for a fellow warrior and will take comfort that there is no evidence I am getting worse. I am hoping that the test results provide some confirmation of no deterioration.
There have been some that have indicated they are considering this clinical trial. I thought it would be interesting to share a tiny sample of anecdotal evidence that it is a promising treatment.

Hahaha! It is my policy to try and look at the bright side of things. While I am not always successful, I am happy to report that I only lost 1 ball on 18 holes. The good thing about all of the medication I take, other than it is keeping me alive, is that losing strength means I don't hit the ball very far these days and I don't lose nearly as many balls. I would say it saves money on golf balls, but I stopped buying golf balls a long time ago. I scavenge for other players' lost balls.
I am trying to think of another way to phrase looking for people's lost balls. It seems insensitive on a forum where I believe there is very little testosterone. Oh well, I can't think of a better way to say it.
That is awesome news. I have spoken to other participants who have had terrific results. In a small sample, the anecdotal evidence I have heard about has contained good news.
I am very happy to hear you are getting great results.
I was on a Thursday schedule from December to July. I had over 30 transfusions during that time. I have a nice relationship with a man on the Thursday schedule. If you have any interest in finding him, I can give you his name in a private message. Of course, I will ask him first, but I think he likes talking to fellow warrior bros.
