Well the 12th cycle of carboplatin and cabataxal is on May 20th, this treatment regime has been successful bringing my Psa down from 243 to 6. Although I have been told 12 cycles are on the far end of what should be taken, so far I have been tolerating it pretty well, aside from burning pain with urination, some blood and added fatigue, in addition some other minor issues. I understand LU177 may be FDA approved this summer. I realize radium 223 is still on the table, although two onc docs said thats used as a last resort and does nothing to bring or keep your Psa down. My oncologist stated a while back there may be another chemo option but she didn't specify which kind. Any ideas or suggestions.

Wow! Great response to the chemo!
Remember, you are not trying to bring your PSA down, you are trying to reduce your cancer. You may want to discuss these options with your oncologist:

With other cancers, when carboplatin+cabazitaxel worked, so did PARP inhibitors. You may wish to investigate one of the clinical trials for Xofigo + a PARP inhibitor, particularly if you have a DNA damage repair defect.
Ok thankyou , how do you determine if I have a DNA damage repair defect. Radium 223 seems to be a viable next option, as well I am looking into more clinical trials. Is there any merit to my onc stating radium 223 is a last resort. Thankyou in advance.
Genetic testing can help determine viable treatment options for you. Definitely discuss with your doctor.
My Genetic testing was a somple blood draw alongside my PSA/Testosterone monthly draw. Were you talking about a bone marrow extraction?
