Hi everyone, I am so happy I found you guys. Its my first read every morning. I am 83 years old guy. Last Sept. PSA was 1400. Biopsy showed Gleason at 3+4=7 Level 4 Metastatic Cancer. After Firmagon injection PSA dropped to 115. Started Eligard and by Nov. PSA down to 32. In Dec down to 1.8. Last week down again to 0.12 They wanted me to also start Erleada in January. Paper work, miss communication etc. Yesterday, the Erleade finally arrived. Eligard seems to be working very well. The side effects are tough in that I am a health active 83 year old guy. The brain fog and energy loss are my biggest concerns, I workout with a trainer twice a week, walk for 30 minutes 3 times and shoot pool with the boys 3 times. I read that Erleada side effects are greater and in addition to what I am able to deal with right now, I'm worried! So here is my question. Should I add Erland now or wait, until I get old. Cheers William
Add Erlanda: Hi everyone, I am so happy... - Advanced Prostate...
Add Erlanda
Go for it.....im on it
You can stop the Erleada pills any time if you think the side effects are too bad. But I think they are not bad. Erleada has shown in studies that it will extend your life.
You might want to at least try it before you deny yourself the extra time on this planet.
Although state of the world just saying
You are old, take what you can while you can.
I am on Erleada + Eligard for the last 14 months. Erleada side effects are not worse than Eligard or Lupron side effects. I am approved by my MO and insurance to take ORGOVYX instead of Eligard starting in May.
Pcnmyy, why the change to Orgovyx? Has the Eligard stopped working fro you? Cheers William
Hi William, well, I understand that both have similar ADT effects. I switched for two reasons: 1) convenience, Eligard is a shot while Orgovyx is a pill. 2) acording to my MO Orgovyx is more heart friendly than Eligard.
Pcnmyy, I had 5 way bi-pass a few years ago and long time, problems with A-fib. I had my third cardo-version just a few weeks ago. The others a year apart. What heart trouble are you dealing with? And how does Orgovyx help? Cheers William
I'm on Orgovyx now. It does not affect the heart like Lupron does because one affects 7 aminos in the process of lowering T, while Orgovyx affects one amino change. I dont feel the strain on my heart during hot flashes like I did on Lupron. Heart events are at the same % with Orgovyx as with placebos in testing.
AKA Nubeqa 👍
Isn’t Nubeqa only used for PC that has not metastasized?
Hi Nalakrats. Thank you for your constant input and comments. Always informative, interesting and helpful to get your perspective. Why do you think Darolutamide is a better than Erleada?
Seems like you are doing well. I have been on Lupron and Erleada for almost a year and I can’t comment on Darolutamide, it’s difficult to know if my side effects are from Lupron or Erleada but they have been manageable and both my Psa and T are undetectable. I would not avoid Erleada.
Squirrel71, I appreciate your advise, and will take it. I am planning to Take the Erleada at nigh with a couple of A-fib meds that already effect my energy level. Have you tried different times of the day? Does it make any difference? Cheers William
Thank you Nal. Will discuss with my new MO.
Good point, especially if depression is part of the SE package. One of my MOs recommended it for me, if I need an AR blocker, because it doesn't cross the blood/brain barrier.
Side effects of 240 mg were tough ,dropped to 180 mg doing fine psa nd
Don't mind "you're old comments"....I believe you're as old as the woman you feel... Remember, never be behind the 8 ball.....
Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

I've been on erleada for 4 years plus first three I took him in the morning and I was already tired from the Lupron so it was hard to notice but after a while I started getting headaches so I split it up to 2 in the morning and 2 at night and the headaches went away cuz I believe this stuff works in the brain or the hypothalamus and there is a problem with the call bleed-through I think
