I know some members here are taking Cannabis either as a treatment in itself or simply in order to feel better.
While I've mostly heard up until now that ingesting the cannabis oil was the best approach and that suppositories were not as efficient, there was an episode released today on Cannabis Health Radio's Youtube channel where the guest is saying that a recent study says that suppositories are actually more efficient.
The guest deals mostly with brain cancer patients but he does make a reference to prostate cancer at the 19m33s mark of the video which you can access with the link I've put here.
For my part, while I am not taking Cannabis right now, I used to like that I would not get buzzed when taking Cannabis as a suppository even when it contained THC in it. However I thought that the lack of buzz meant that it was not working. So if the guy is right, though I don't know what study confirms this, then suppositories might be a preferable alternative to ingestion.
Episode 298:Suppositories Are Considered The Most Effective Way To Take Cannabis Oil
The comment and 'science' is accurate. Suppositories BYPASS the conventional routes of intake / administration and are metabolized in a different (more direct) way. - therefore much HIGHER dosses / dosage is possible.
Cannabis 'treatment' is reliant on 'quantity' for some practical applications and symptoms.
This method allows some people to do the "Rick Simpson' protocol without the buzz OR consume higher quantities that are much less than the RS protocol and still get the relief they are seeking.
The reason you haven't heard much about it is because it is so unglamorous and 'illegal' in the USA for obvious, though dubious reasons.
I heard about this at least 2 years ago and checked it out.
The key is HIGH doses without the buzz. Next - how do you 'make' them - this is a do it yourself project, for the most part and requires extraction processes to make it worthwhile - you don't stick DRY up your tract.
The next question would be - what 'genetic' strain R U talking about - that is another factor to consider - WHAT R U trying to treat .....
Do some more reading - you'll realize this is not a bunch of B. S .
Hi Mas. Thank you for the post. This YouTube interview, for me, is a great advertisement for Brexit. Good example of how institutions can become fossilized and counterproductive. This suppository business is very interesting. Many years ago, I spoke with this guy (passed) who maintained that an effective way of treating prostate cancer was through suppositories, mainly Luteolin. He had his own method for "rolling" one's own suppositories and was going to give it to me, but, unfortunately, as I indicated, he died and I never did make an effort to try on by myself. However, what I do use for THC and CBD delivery are tinctures. One full dropper of CKS Renew Tincture (1:20) gives me 100 mg per dropper of THC (90 mg, 10 mg CBD). The dose is administered underneath the tongue and therefore bypasses the digestive tract. There is no buzz and it helps put me to sleep. Another method of delivery I have been considering is patches, but I don't know whether or not the effect would be buzzless. When I run out of tincture, I will definitely look into nasal sprays.
